Patients and families frequently turn to healthcare providers and health researchers for advice about insurance plans and healthcare related purchases. While these questions occur throughout the year, they are more frequent during the annual Medicare Open enrollment period which this year runs from October 15, 2017 to December 7, 2017. During this period, eligible individuals may enroll in or change their Medicare Part D plan and enroll in or change their Medicare Advantage plan (Medicare part C).
